From Maria McKenzie: "Charleston is one of my favorite cities ever especially here in the United States! My husband Matthew and I visited last year for the first and had anniversary portraits done ourselves. So when the time came to decide where we wanted to vacation at this year twas a no brainer that we had to go back with the kids this summer.
I was one thousand percent elated when one of our previous wedding couples Danielle and Zach reached out and expressed they wanted to do a quick 48 hour getaway just the two of them and do a anniversary session in gorgeous historic Charleston, South Carolina for their 5th wedding anniversary. I can not even begin to tell you how important and wonderful it is for your marriage to get away just the two of you. If there is one thing you do for your marriage every year it’s travel together. Make sure you set aside time for a weekend getaway whether it is near or far it is so good for your soul and your marriage. Plus throw in romantic portraits of the two of you in one of the oldest and most charming cities its’ absolutely perfect! Danielle and Zach gave me complete creative freedom for this shoot and I am so glad they did. They ran with all my crazy ideas including renting out the gorgeous and famous Fiona the little pink car also known as The Pink Figgy! Then once we were finished with their AMAZING session the four of us spent the evening together grabbing dinner and doing a ghost tour on the USS Yorktown! We had such an amazing and fun filled evening!
If you have never visited Charleston, South Carolina there are so many beautiful places and sites to see. From Cobblestone roads, to flickering lanterns, pastel colored homes, and a new hidden gem around every corner. Not to mention all the history and great restaurants there is something in Charleston for everyone!
